IPL treatment

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, also known as a photofacial, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses light energy to improve the color and texture of your skin. It's commonly used to treat a variety of skin issues, including:

Sun damage: Reduces the appearance of age spots, freckles, and other pigmented lesions.

Rosacea: Helps to minimize redness and broken blood vessels.

Acne scars: Improves skin texture and reduces discoloration.

Unwanted hair: Can disable hair follicles to reduce hair growth.

How IPL Works

IPL uses light energy to target specific pigments in the skin. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment cells, which converts it into heat and destroys the unwanted cells1. This process stimulates collagen production, leading to improved skin texture and tone.

Procedure

During an IPL session, a cool gel is applied to the treatment area, and the IPL device is used to deliver light pulses. The procedure typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and most people experience minimal discomfort.
